Pros: Good cleaning, saves water,silent
Cons: No option of using ONLY HEAT & DRY,it will come 'ON' ONLY WITH WASH CYCLE.
The Bottom Line: For the same amount ,if I had the option of ONLY 'HEAT & DRY', THIS GE DISHWASHER MACHINE WOULD BE THE BEST and truly would be 'ENERGY SAVER' TOO.

We bought with good faith GE GHDA485NCS dishwasher. Even though it does a good cleaning job, the machine cannot be used to only dry the utensils. Let us say that we are only two people in the house and we do not have full load of dirty dishes to fill the dishwasher and hence instead of waiting to load the dishwasher for 3 or 4 days(AND KEEP THE DIRTY DISHES IN DISHWASHER AND ALSO MAY PRODUCE BACTERIA AND SMELL TOO), I just want to wash the dishes in sink and then load the dishwasher and use the dishwasher to DRY ONLY, I cannot because the wash cycle switches 'ON' automatically. Hence the machine is NOT 'ENERGY SAVER' since it takes up energy to WASH and also takes up energy to 'HEAT &DRY' TOO!!!! When we tried, both the 'wash' and 'heat&dry' cycle switched on together.
When we called up GE toll free consumer line, the specialist told us to increase the in-let water temperature to 120-150 degrees and went on to mention that if we do this then the utensils will be completely dry. In directly, what The consumer specialist is trying to say is that to make GE dishwasher 'ENERGY SAVER' product, I have to increase the my water heater temperature and thus pay higher electric bill. How much ever I tried to reason with her ,she was not ready to understand my point of view and stuck to her guns and went on tell me to increase inlet the water temp to dishwasher to 120 to 150 degrees.
I think GE failed while designing this aspect of the product i.e. they forgot to give the consumer the option of using the dishwasher to ONLY DRY the utensils. If they had given this option , I think this dishwasher could be the best for its value in terms of dollars.
