consumersunion's Full Review: GE GLD5900NWW / GLD5900NBB / GLD5900NCC 24 in. Bui...
We bought this GE dishwasher 9 months ago from Lowes. It was a special order because it was not a regularly stocked item. It was bought to match our GE refrigerator (which we love). This dishwasher has not worked properly since "day 1". (We previously owned the cheapest dishwasher that Frigidaire made, and it worked perfectly for about 2 years until the door seal started to leak, but that's another review.) GE said our water wasn't hot enough, so I replaced the water heater. But that did not help! GE said a valve in our water line was faulty. I replaced all valves and faucet, too. That did not help either! We paid almost $500 for this "clunker". This dishwasher has never cleaned our dishes, ever!!! We always rinsed/washed our dishes before putting them inside. After the dishwasher was through we had to wash almost every dish, spoon, fork, etc. It has become an ongoing nightmare. The sad thing about all of this is that GE's repair person has been one of the most rude persons during all of this - always coming up with another excuse. I love my GE refrigerator, but I will never buy another GE dishwasher ever! I have owned 4 dishwashers, and this is the worse one I've ever owned. UPDATE: Just purchased another Frigidaire dishwasher. I removed the GE and installed the new product. The Frigidaire works like a charm.
