Pros:Matches and stacks on matching front load washer, interior light, moisture sensor
Cons:No adjustable end of cycle signal
The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend the GE Profile Dryer to cut down on your wrinkles and especially if you buy the matching front loading washer.

Have you ever gone to your dryer expecting your clothes to be dried and instead find your clothes still damp and some items looking like you have slept in them? With the GE Profile 5.7 Cubic Foot Extra-Large Capacity Front-Loading Dryer, Model DPXH46EAWW, your clothes will no longer look like a crumbled mess and they will actually be dried due to the moisture sensor which takes the guesswork out of drying clothes.

Choices Offered

There are two color choices offered with the GE Model DPXH46 dryer. The DPXH46EACC is the color bisque and the DPXH46EAWW is the color white. Both have the same features and the only difference is the color.

The models stated above are the electric versions. The gas versions of the dryers are DPXH46GACC for the color bisque and the DPXH46GAWW is for the color white.

Features

The GE Profile 5.7 Cubic Foot Extra Large Capacity Dryer is very easy to use. The knobs are located on the front of the dryer above the dryer door and are all self-explanatory. What sets this dryer apart from others are some of its features.

Stackable: This dryer is stackable on top of the GE Profile Front Loading Washer, Model WPXH214 or fits under a counter or side-by-side of the washer.

Moisture Sensor Dry: This is a must have for me in a dryer. The moisture sensor in the automatic cycles senses the moisture content of whatever you are drying and ends when they are dry. Drying time varies depending on size and dampness of load, weight and fabric type. Large items such as blankets or comforters sometimes require rearranging to complete the drying cycle since it senses that they are dry on the outside but not on places on the inside of the large article.

Wrinkle Care: Offered at the end of the easy care/perm press cycle and the delicates automatic cycle. There is an extra rotary knob that offers extended wrinkle care with your choice of on or off. Using this option minimizes the wrinkles in your clothes. It provides approximately 15 minutes of no-heat tumbling after the clothes are dry. This additional wrinkle care option can only be used with the easy care and the delicates cycles.

Reversible Dryer Door: The dryer door offers a reversible hinge so you may swing to the left or to the right. This is an important feature since you can have the option of installing your dryer to the left or to the right of your washer if you choose to sit them side-by-side instead of stacking.

Drying Rack: The dryer comes with a drying rack which is set inside the dryer to dry items such as sneakers and delicates that you do not want to tumble. The front bar of the drying rack fits into the lip of the lint screen and is used with the timed drying setting.

Drum Light: The interior drum light comes in very handy so you can actually see your items in the dryer when you open the door.

Drying Cycles and Drying Temperatures Offered

Drying Cycles: There are 3 automatic moisture sensor cycles that include cottons, easy care perm press, and delicate. There is also a timed drying cycle. The only occasion that I have used the timed cycle is when I use the drying rack.

Drying Temperatures: There are 4 drying temperatures that include cottons - regular heat, permanent press - medium heat, knits/delicates - low heat, air fluff - no heat.

Final Impressions

I have found by using the automatic moisture sensor cycles, that the dryer generally cycles with the washing machine; meaning that the dryer gets done approximately 2-3 minutes before the washing machine allowing you enough time to remove your articles from the dryer before the washer stops. I have had to run 1 - 2 cycles for extra large heavy loads, such as King-size comforters, bedspreads, and 9 pairs of jeans at once.

Using the additional wrinkle care feature has really cut down on ironing tasks.

Dimensions

The dimensions are 36 inches in height by 25 3/4 inches in depth by 26 7/8 inches in width.

Warranty

The dryer has a one year parts and labor warranty. In addition, there is a 5-year parts only warranty.
