Pros: High-Efficiency, Tax Deductions possible, Less bills to pay on water, electricity and clothes last longer.
Cons: A bit more expensive and asks you to use a special detergent.
The Whirlpool Duet fabric care system. There's nothing that could compare!
Not only is this front-loading pair stylishly designed and trendy- IT SAVES YOU MONEY on your bills.
Let's review what the machine does:
**It saves you 68% WATER CONSUMPTION!
----------This is a HUGE thing today. Some states even give you tax deductions if you have this washing machine- because it really DOES use that much LESS water. Just imagine your water bill going down.
**Up to 60% ENERGY CONSUMPTION!
----------We all know energy is constantly going up, so this is important. Yes another way to get a tax deduction!
**It saves you time- Dryer's done when washer is.
----------HALF the dryer time- even LESS money. Not only does this save you the energy of running a dryer for an hour or more, it saves you time. What's more valuable than your time? And the reason it takes less drying time is:
**This baby spins at 1200 RPM! (clothes are close to dry when they come out)
----------If you really didn't care about the set matching, you could buy a cheap Roper brand dryer and use it.
**It has no agitator!
----------Anyone who goes to the laundrymat KNOWS that front loaders clean much better- they really do. There's no agitator twisting your expensive jeans about, causing them to have a shorter lifespan. And those fuzzies you get on your sweater? Say goodbye to them.
This washer is the most amazing clothes care product. With today's costs of energy rising, and water conservation so important there's no reason to argue against whether to get these or not- aside from the fact the asher costs about 2x the price of a frontloader. But, if you think about it, it would pay for itself in the long run. Your average toploader can use up to 40 gallons of water per wash- the Duet washer uses on average between 12-18 gallons. The average toploader uses somewhere in the range of 35-50 dollars annually in energy. The Duet? just under $20. Plus, Tax deductions. EVERYONE loves to hear that word.
One downfall? They suggest you buy HE laundry detergent. This detergent is *slightly* more expensive than the average detergent, but I've learned a little secret-
take regular detergent and put a TABLESPOON in. No more than a tablespoon- I promise, you'll regret it if you use more.
This works just fine in lieu of the HE detergent. Of course if you ask the company they would shake their head no, but I've used it and it's done just fine for me.
