rebelgrrl's Full Review: Family Games Game of Life
My family has always been huge on board games, and Life never goes out of circulation. Life is a game that people of all ages can play. I remember when I was smaller I was so impressed at the game board itself. There are little hills and bridges and buildings (which weren't too hard to set up, by the way).
For anyone who has never played, the object of the game is to make it get all the way to the end of the game board. Each player gets his or her own little car in their color of choice, and a little peg (pink or blue) to put in the car to represent themselves. What I like about this game is that you're never in the same scenario twice. In one game a player can be a doctor making $60,000 a year and have 4 kids, and in another game a player could be a police officer with twins. There are so many possibilities. You can get married and buy a house and go to college.
As far as younger children go, I believe they'll have fun. And there are not many aspects of the game that will cause arguments between younger kids. The game lasts a pretty good while too. You'll need an adult to supervise for kids too young to count money and things like that, but the game itself is self-explanatory. Life is a classic that you'll never tire of.
