| jethomas's Full Review: Michael MacCaskey and Bill Marken - Gardening for ... |
Gardening For Dummies presents a great deal of useful information. It seems to cover all the basics of lawn and gardening. So there is information about roses, annuals, perennials, trees, grass and ground cover, window boxes, bulbs and on and on. As a first place to look for information on a subject - whether a particular plant will grow well in your region, for example - it is quite informative.
It's weakness is that it can't cover anything as deeply as I would like. Once you know the two sentence basics about a plant, it would be nice to have a little more information. I can usually find something about almost any gardening related subject but I usually don't find as much as I would like.
Also, it isn't always easy to tell what plants are included in the full color pictures.
