| signaller1's Full Review: Garmin GPS 12XL |
I have been a keen bush walker for a number of years now. One of the best things I have used in the bush is the Garmin GPS 12. I do allot of map to groun type work because you can move quicker through the bush and if you have any seed's of doubt in your mind you just rip out the GPS 12. You can mark points on the GPS and it will plot your position and if you a distance to the target area you want to get back to. The best part is that you can download all you grid co-ordinates onto your computer. Using a program called Aussie explorer developed in Australia on the Gold Coast, you can down load you speed, any stops, points marked on the GPS, hieght above sea level and path you took to get where ever you may have walk. It will plot your path on raster map, GIF maps, basically any map you want to down load into the Aussie explorer program. Aussie explorer is spelt, (oziexplorer) for the progam spelling. This system I use is excellent and would recommend it to any serious hiker how does the KM or Miles in the bush.
