Pros: Easy to use, Additional software, large screen
Cons: Large case size, expensive
The Bottom Line: While the cost is a little high I would highly recommend the Color Streetpilot to anybody. Garmin units are very easy to operate!

| DCKC's Full Review: Garmin StreetPilot ColorMap Car GPS Receiver |
I own other Garmin products and they all serve their own purpose. They are all very reliable and easy to use.
I found the need to have a mapping system on my Honda Valkyrie. I do so much touring in unfamiliar cities. It is impossible to read a map while riding a motorcycle! I decided a GPS was the way to go. Like I said, I do own other GPS systems but the screens were just too small for this application.
I started to look around for a GPS that would suit my needs. I needed reliability, function, form and sturdiness. I found all these qualities in the Garmin Color Streetpilot. First hand knowledge I know the reliability of Garmin is second to no other brand. The function of the unit is good out of the box but with the added programs by Map Source (Roads and Recreation and Metro Guide) the Streetpilot is now more than anyone could ask for. Form was great because I did not have a large are to place the unit on my bike. With the use of a "shock" type mount the Streetpilot is now on the handlebars directly in front of me. As far as the sturdiness goes, I have dropped my other units, they have gotten wet while hunting or fishing and they never fail to keep on working!
I think this is a unit that can have multiple applications for whatever your personal needs may be. It is a little expensive but well worth the money. I did compare and almost bought the Garmin Streetpilot (black/orange screen) but after looking at both screens in the sunlight the color unit is much easier for your eyes to focus. It is worth the extra couple hundred dollars.
If you need a "mapping" GPS then the Streetpilot is the way to go!
