buckskinn88's Full Review: Garmin eTrex H Handheld GPS Receiver
This Etrex is the simplest of recreational GPS's, but it is definitely worth its economical price. It has an adequate amount of memory for storing hundreds of waypoints. I have yet to fill it. For the most part I've used this GPS while out geocaching, and it serves to that purpose very well. It can gain and hold a signal under most light coverage, though heavy tree or cloud coverage will affect the strength and reliabilty of the signal. Its cased in a very durable shell that is shock proof and water proof. The screen is resistant to scratching, mine has only a few light ones, which are barely noticeable. A good accessory to have is the transfer data cord, which is greatly helpful when loading the GPS with coordinates. The only down side is that it doesn't contain any mapping, which is a great plus to have while on the road. All and all the Garmin eTrex GPS Receiver is a very decent buy, and will serve to its purpose.
