I bought this product at the same time that I bought Garnier’s Fructis Anti Frizz serum as both of them were marked down and I was having a problem with the frizzies. I used this product before blow-drying when the hair was still damp and then, applied the serum. This review is about this product’s performance on a long straight hair style.

Garnier Fructis Style Smoothing Milk comes in a green plastic, 6.4 fl oz bottle with a pump cap. The product is white and creamy with a slightly sticky consistency. It has the traditional Fructis fruity smell which I love and it lingers in the hair until the next wash.

Garnier Fructis Style Smoothing Milk offers two different methods of styling:

THE SMOOTHY - Apply on slightly damp hair from ends up to roots. Blow dry with
a round brush for a sleek, smooth look.

THE SMOOTH OPERATOR - Apply to dry hair to control frizz and flyaways.

It does recommend that you use only Garnier Fructis products together for best results.

My experience:

The Smoothy: After applying the product to my damp, half-curly hair (and again, do not use too much of this product as with the serum as it will make your hair look oily), I brushed it through with no snarls at all so it does also work as a detangler. I used about a nickel size portion in the palm of my hand. I then blow dried it and it gave the desired effect. Straight, sleek, shiny hair.

The Smooth Operator: Well, this was a little trickier. The milk is difficult to apply to dry hair without using too much and mine ended up looking pretty straight but it felt and looked overtreated and gooky. It almost felt like I had rubbed lotion into my hair. This type application did not work for me.

Conclusion:

I liked this product as long as it was used on damp hair. It left my hair quite sleek and shiny with no oily residue. However, I have used the whole bottle now and I will not buy more. The anti-frizz serum does a lot better job than this milk and you can apply it any time on dry hair with no styling involved. I will recommend it for use on damp hair though. Maybe this product is better suited for styling rather than smoothing.
