Nice to meet you. :-)
So far we have been sticking close to home. I am looking into joining a local metal detecting club - that should give us a lot more variety. I tend to stick to the closer depths - six inches or so - because I haven't perfected my digging technique. The metal detector will detect a lot further down, though. I will keep you posted on my adventures in my new hobby. :-)

Hey Bryan! I have been buried in stress and trauma. All that is over now - but it should give me writing material for the rest of my life. I am glad to be back and have missed all of you!!

The beach is one of the best places from what I have read. We tried to go to a beach near us - but it is in a national park - bad scene. No metal detectors allowed. Funny they let little kids dig up the beach.... LOL. I think you should put it on the top of your list. It is a fun hobby - just have to balance with Epinions. :-)

Hiya!
So far we have found various coins - lots of pennies, a few nickels and dimes, and a couple of silver quarters. As well as a variety of bottle caps and pull tabs (LOL - but at least it cleans up the trash!) I have also found an interesting piece of metal - not sure what it is - has part of a manufacturer name on it. Still researching. Fun stuff! I am glad to be back - I have missed you all and I have tons of your epinions to read and rate!

and of course living on the beach just enhances that desire:) I know it has been on my gift list from my husband but he's never managed to buy it for me. I do wonder if I would use it. Gosh it would be my new hobby and what would happen to epinions! Nice to see you btw. jo

I really enjoyed this review. You told me about something I knew nothing about before....isn't that one of the great things about Epinions! As I read it, I was hoping, though, that you would tell us about some of the treasures you and your husband have found, and what sort of locations you use this, and how deep do you have to dig to find things. Please, I'd love to hear more.
