I get new computers to work with every few months for my job, I have had this one about a month and have got a fell for its strong points and weaknesses.
Well, I am going to try to rate this computer according to the recommended way, maybe I will get better ratings..
So, here is everything they need to know. I will try to break it down and simplify it for those of you who have never bought a computer.
-Describe everything that comes in the box with this desktop-
The computer comes with the tower, which is the actual computer processor and CD drives for those of you who are computer illiterate. The power cables, printer hook-up, keyboard, and mouse also come with it. I bought the monitor that was recommended for the computer and it came with speakers. It all depends on what you buy as to what you are going to get.
-Did the computer work perfectly out of the box?-
It took me about 15-20 minutes to set it up, but the people who are not good with electronics or have never set one up before might need some help. Basically it works right out of the box, all you need to do is hook it up and install windows or whatever operating system you use.
-Does it have a fast processor but little RAM or some other weakness-
This computer has good RAM and a great processor, they only downside of the computer is what operating system you have. Windows XP like most of the windows operating systems is a little buggy, but that’s about it. It has not frozen on me yet, I guess that’s a good sign.
-How upgradeable is this computer?-
This computer is pretty much top of the line in most categories, it may be out of date by the time I write this though. When I talked to the gateway person on the phone about its upgrades he said it can be upgraded about as much as you want.
-Ignore the specs for a moment and describe how fast the computer feels.-
The computer almost never stalls when loading files, pictures, movies, ect. It feels very fast and takes almost no time to start up when you turn it on. Loading times are extremely short.
-Who should buy this Computer? Gamers? Grandmas? Who shouldn’t?-
This is a great computer for anyone, easy to operate and use.
-Other Stuff-
It comes with 56k modem that is superior to most 56k's, so you get faster loading times on the net. It has a Pentium 4 processor also but, other than that I think I have covered about everything.
