Finally – a guide for the gay men who aren’t quite able to find love in their lives…
The Gay Guy’s Guide to Love, much like The Gay Guys Guide to Life was a guide of maxims for gay guys in general, is a collection of “dos, don’ts, and definite maybes of dating and mating,” for gay men.
Filled with 500 quick suggestions for dating and mating, The Gay Guy’s Guide to Love is a fun and entertaining look at the world of gay dating. Broken down into several sections of interest, from getting ready to start dating to making a relationship last, The Gay Guy’s Guide to Love does not set out to completely explain the dating world, but sets a much more attainable (and useful) role of providing ideas, hints and suggestions for you as you partake in the dating world.
One of the more useful thoughts for those of you just starting out…
First of all, BELIEVE. Love is possible. Even J. Edgar Hoover had a boyfriend.
This is one of the themes of the book – anything is possible if you put your mind to it and it’s a useful motto to have.
Another important point to learn…
One word about rejection – Get over it. (Okay, three words.) Rejection is inevitable. He who avoids rejection avoids life.
So you’ve got to believe love is possible and you can’t be afraid of the rejection that will come at times in your search for Mr. Right.
Once you’ve found your man, you’ve got to express that love that you have for him (and this is an area where I think many gay men probably could use a few tips – I know I do at times).

It just goes to show you that opposed to what you sometimes hear or read, in general, gay men are just as sentimental and enamored by love as anyone else. I know I am and that’s why both my partner (of 7 years I might add) and I enjoy this book so much. It’s a great way to keep dialogue open in your relationship and it serves as a helpful reminder as you travel throughout life.
