GearWrench Socket Set 83001

This is a nice set of socket wrenches for the homeowner who likes to do his own maintenance and tinkering on lawn and garden equipment, bicycles, and automobiles.

By GearWrench, the tools are packed in a fitted blow-molded plastic case with each in its place keeping everything organized and making it easy to see if anything has been left out.

The sockets are ¼” 3/8” drive in both SAE and metric sizes with a full range of sizes you’ll typically encounter in home projects.

The SAE (American) sizes are marked with a double ring around the base and the metric sockets have a knurled ring around the base making it easy to decide even in dim light which is which. That has always been a problem keeping the two types separate but this is a good idea and it helps keep them straight.

To turn the sockets there are three ratchets with the set in 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" drive sizes and in full polish finish for long life and ease of cleaning.  The ratchet handles are longer than the typical sizes allowing more leverage to be applied to the work at hand.

There are several other handles to turn the sockets, extensions, and adapters. All together there are 118 pieces of various six and twelve point sockets in metric and SAE sizes and accessories to employ them all in a portable case that protects them and keeps your tools from walking off.

The set includes a dozen different types of sockets so if your fasteners are anything within household size you will probably be able to work them.
