Pros: Powerful unit, pneumatic tires, self cooling pump, fun and easy to use
Cons: Loud, additional accessories (if needed) seem pricey
The Bottom Line: Spend the extra $100.00 to get this mid range unit. The features are well worth the extra money. Wide range of spray adjustment with power to spare.

| j1459's Full Review: Generac 1292-0 Residential Power Washer |
After three years of ownership I am able to say that I am pleased with the Generac model 1292 2300 PSI High Pressure Washer with the 6 h.p. OHV Briggs & Stratton engine. It has more than adequate power for the average homeowner.
The spray wand offers a multiple adjustment feature which enables you to set the nozzle from a pinpoint stream to a wide fan spray. This coupled with the pumps variable adjust pressure control knob allows the user to adjust the unit to the proper pressure/spray pattern for the job at hand in just seconds.
I chose to spend $100 more on this model (as opposed to the entry level units) for the following reasons:
1.PNEUMATIC TIRES - this makes transporting the unit through the yard, over curbs and up and down deck stairs, etc. much easier.
2. AUTOMATIC COOL DOWN FEATURE - On cheaper units you have to turn off the engine when not spraying water to prevent overheating and ruining the water pump. The automatic cool down feature of this model enables you to keep the engine running even if you are not spraying water through the wand. This is very convenient when relocating the unit or stopping to move things out of the way, etc. With this feature you don't have to turn off the engine to protect the pump.
I have found that the accessories included with the unit are adequate for most tasks. I was a little concerned about the availability of parts/accessories but notice that items can be purchased on the Generac website. I have not had any service issues with the pump in three years of ownership.
I have found this pressure washer useful for the following tasks, cleaning the deck and patio furniture, cleaning cement walks, steps, and house foundation. cleaning lawn tractor, gardening tools, etc. prepping wood surfaces for paint, cleaning aluminum siding (requires brushing)and finally cleaning driveway.
In freezing temperatures unit must be stored indoors (e.g. basement)to prevent freeze damage to pump. Alternate to indoor storage is to add approved type antifreeze to unit.
I would not recommend for cleaning second story siding, etc. I think that is better left to the pros for safety reasons, just my opinion.
