We purchased this expensive fridge assuming we'd get excellent quality and warranty. Unfortunately, we expect this fridge to be replaced within 3 years because of our experience so far.

We purchased this fridge in Feb/Mar as part of a huge $60K kitchen rebuild and installed in May. After the fridge was installed, we noticed the stainless doors were wavy/dented and scattered with small pock-marks. We pointed that out to the installer who informed us that would be a warranty issue that GE would cover.
We could have packed up the fridge right there, but since we were informed that it was a warranty issue, we figured we had a year to address the issue and put it on our to-do list of things to address in the kitchen rebuild. In Nov we finally got to the fridge issue. GE Customer Relations informed us we had 30-days to report any cosmetic issues and that we were essentially hosed. So now we have a $60K kitchen with a $2500 fridge that looks like a $250 fridge.
In addition, the fridge has a crappy ice/water dispenser design. The shelf for the cup is about 1/2 inch wide. When you place a cup in the dispenser, the bottom of the cup scrapes the cheap plastic back side of the dispenser. Within a month of use, the cheap plastic dispenser back wall is now all scratched.
To summarize, it seems GE puts together this $2500 fridge with cheap low-quality parts, so we expect it to have problems very soon. Thanx GE, thanx a lot.
