What is eczema, and how should one get rid of it? Eczema is a common skin condition that is characterized by red, itchy, scaly skin, and it is often hereditary. My son is prone to dry skin especially around his mouth, so I frequently apply the Teeny Faces Moisturizing Stick around the area to prevent chapping. Teeny Faces is safe for children, its portable, and its very affordable. Thus, when dry patches arise on the boys body, I apply the balm liberally, and in a day or so, the skin is moist again.
This new rash was out of control. It was on his face and neck, the inside of his arms, behind his knees, on his chest, and the abdomen. I tried lotions, creams, and even hydrocortisone, but nothing helped, in fact the condition was worsening. The doctor diagnosed the condition as eczema, and prescribed a steroidal cream.
The prescribed cream didnt work, and I was desperate for a cure. I ran a Google search, and came upon an expensive cream by Mustela. It smelled nice, but didnt reduce the dryness much. Then, while stocking up on the kids bath soap, I noticed the Gentle Naturals Baby Eczema Cream sitting on the shelf. Since nothing else worked, and it cost less then $7.00 bucks, I thought Id give it a try.
Gentle Naturals Baby Eczema Cream is a heavy-bodied cream formulated for babies with eczema. What do I mean by heavy-bodied? When I squeeze a small amount onto my finger, I can turn my hand over, and the cream wont drip off, or fall off my finger. Its super rich, and has the consistency of a thick, diaper rash ointment. Its white in color, and truly fragrance free. Del Pharmaceuticals suggests you apply the cream liberally and massage into the skin especially after the bath. They also state that the cream sooths itching and helps heal, and I can attest to the accuracy of the claim.
William stopped itching within minutes of applying it to his rash. I rubbed it several times throughout the day, and although it does go on quite greasy, it soaks into the skin to restore moisture. You only need a tiny bit to moisturize the area. Even though we had many areas to treat, we still have half the bottle left. As far as I can tell, the cream is only available in a 4-ounce size squeeze bottle with flip-top lid. Id buy this stuff by the gallon if it were available, as its the only treatment thats actually worked on my kids eczema. Dont waste your money on all those expensive cures when Gentle Naturals Baby Eczema Cream works better, and its reasonably priced.
