| sbennick's Full Review: Gerber Baby Wash With Lavender |
My daughter has pretty sensitive skin. She can not use most bath products because it dries her skin out to bad. However, she loves to have bubbles in the tub. So, I am always on the look out for something she can use.
Last week I received an envelope from Gerber. Enclosed was a $1 off coupon for the Gerber Baby Wash. It was promoted as having SkinNutrients to help protect baby's skin and hair. It seems, SkinNutrients are a special blend of Vitamins, Chamomile, Aloe Vera and Silk Proteins.
Now, as far as I'm concerned Dev's skin is baby skin.
So of course, I want what is best for her. I made a point to pick up a bottle the next time I was at the store . At 3.69 minus the $1 coupon, I knew I was getting an okay deal. However, it turned out to be on sale after I got to the register for 2.99. So this was turning out to be a better deal than I thought. I knew if it didn't work well for her, I could always pass it on to my neighbor.
**About the product **
First, I loved the smell. Gerber Baby Wash has the " baby " smell with a hint of Chamomile. You know the smell. The good one, not the bad one : -)
It is clear in color, with about the same thickness as regular shampoo. Gerber Baby Wash is said to be Tear Free and Hypoallergenic.. I would say BOTH of these statements are true.
Gerber Baby Wash comes in a blue 15oz. heavy duty plastic bottle. It has a navy blue "pop top". It is very easy to open for me and her.
Gerber Baby Wash can be purchased in the "regular " baby scent or with a lavender scent. The lavender scented is called Gerber Lavender Wash. Same product, just with lavender and different name. I, personal, like the baby scent the best. It is so clean smelling.
**Directions **
You use Gerber Baby Wash just like you would any other body/hair wash product. Wet skin. Pour into hand or on a cloth. Wash away. Rinse well. The bottle also tells you that you can pour straight into the bath water. Bingo! Just what I wanted to read. That is the only way Dev's wants it. Which is okay, because she is getting clean as she plays. Of course, I always do a quick once over before letting her get out of the tub.
***Ingredients ***
Water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, PEG-80 Sorbitan Laaurate, Sodium Laurampho PG-Acetate Phoshate, PEG-150 distearate, Sodium Chloride, Tetrasodium EDTA, Fragrance, Quaternium-15, Aloe Vera Gel, Chamomile Extract, Citric Acid
**Ending **
Gerber has been in business for over 70 years. Not many companies can say that. Gerber's baby is one of the most recognized babies around. : ) You know Gerber is a name you can trust. So far, Gerber Baby Wash has proven to be very gentle on Dev's skin and eyes. Will I purchase again, in a skinny minute. The only problem is, it doesn't last long at my house. They need to make a bigger bottle, like a refill size..... Hummmm, I see an e-mail to Gerber in my future....
BTW, I would like to point out 2 Urban Legends made against Gerber which ARE NOT TRUE!!! Both of these statements are FALSE, FALSE,FALSE....
1. Parents are entitled to claim one $500 savings bond per child from Gerber because Gerber lied about using nothing but natural ingredients in its baby food.
2.The Gerber Baby is a likeness of Humphrey Bogart as an infant.
