| littledebby's Full Review: Gerber Garden Mashers |
We started feeding our daughter Gerber Baby Cereals when she was around six months old. She had been on formula for about a month and we decided that it was time to start introducing her to other foods.
We followed the instructions on the box to first start your baby on cereal by adding it to their bottle. We added the formula to the bottle for several weeks actually before trying to give our daughter a bowl of the Gerber Cereal. This she absolutely refused to eat. She is now 15 months old and still prefers to have her cereal added to her bottle.
I have tried some of the other flavors of the cereals but I like the original Single Grain Rice because it seems to me to be more thin than the other flavors which works better for my daughters bottles. Although my daughter has moved on to table food and no longer eats any jars of baby food, I still add the Gerber Cereal to her bottle of milk at bedtime because of the nutritional value.
Gerber Single Grain Rice provides your child with many necessary vitamins. Some of theses vitamins include; Calcium, Iron, Vitamin E, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, and a few others. The Rice Cereal is also a great source for Potassium.
At the store, I buy the 8 oz boxes for about $1.60. Each 8 oz box has 15 1/4 cup servings. The box itself comes with a convenient pull spout. The cereal is easy to make and only needs the addition of water, milk or juice. The cereal can be served warm or cold. There are instructions on the side of the box which include microwave guidelines.
I really love this product and like knowing that my daughter is getting several of the nutrients she needs every day. I would highly recommend Gerber Baby Cereals to any new mother who is looking to introduce new foods to her baby. (Please note that Gerber recommends you wait until your baby is 4-6 months old before starting this product.)
