Addison, is, by far, my least picky baby when it comes to foods. Hailey was definitely less picky than Jill but, she still wouldn't come within ten feet of a Gerber Graduates Meat Stick. If I dared to even show Jill one she would freak out. I wasn't sure if Addison would like them or not, but, I had to give them a shot. Turns out she absolutely adores them and I have to have several jars on hand at all times!
Cost & Location
I purchase our 2.5 OZ jars of Gerber Graduates Meat Sticks at either our Wal-Mart Supercenter or Kroger. The prices vary between each place, running $0.97 and $1.19. You can purchase this product almost anywhere Gerber products are sold.
The Details
Gerber Graduates Meat Sticks come packaged in a glass jar, not unlike a jar of baby food. They come in a couple of different varieties including turkey sticks, chicken sticks, chicken sticks with carrots and plain meat sticks. They look just like mini versions of hot dogs and are packaged in water. They are the perfect size for little hands!
One thing I love about Gerber Graduates Meat Sticks is that they contain no preservatives or artificial flavors. There is no Trans Fat in this product either. What it does have is plenty of protein and healthier fats like Polyunsaturated and Monounsaturated. Each serving (1 jar/ 7 sticks) contains 10 grams of protein! The fat is relatively low, 7 grams with only 2.5 grams of that being unsaturated fat.
As with almost all Gerber Graduates jarred foods, this one has a shelf life of only 2-3 days. It must be refrigerated after opening.
Addison Can't Get Enough!
As I mentioned earlier in my review, my older two daughters would have nothing to do with any of the Gerber Graduates Meat Sticks. Addison however absolutely adores them. She will bring me the jar from the cabinet to let me know she wants them!
Gerber Graduates Meat Sticks, as promised, are easy for Addison to chew. In fact, they break apart just pulling them from the jar! These are perfect for lunch time or as a quick snack. I always have them on hand for her!
Addison loves the taste of all of them. We have tried each variety, including the chicken and carrots (what a clever way to sneak in the veggies). The only real downside to these is the smell. It smells very strong, and honestly, not unlike dog food. While it's a problem for me, Addison could care less. She's more interested in the taste!
I love that we have a snack/meal that Addison adores and that provides her with so much protein. I also love that it contains other important nutrients such as Zinc, Iron and Calcium.
Overall
I highly recommend Gerber Graduates Meat Sticks. Addison adores them and your baby might too! They're an excellent source of Protein and other key nutrients!
