Pros: Lathers Well & Rinses Out Easily, Works Good For The Body Too
Cons: I Didn't Care For The Scent
In the past Ive found that I either love or hate different Grins & Giggles products. Since our favorite flavor was discontinued in their baby wash - the sweet pea - weve been trying out all types/brands of baby washes. At this point Im going to the store and basically buying whatever we havent tried, just to see if I can fall in love with something else. We havent found one yet, but weve ran across a number of decent products and a number that just dont cut it.
One product that we recently tried out was Grins & Giggles Baby Shampoo Aloe Vera. For me the product name on this item is somewhat odd. Unlike most of their washes, this one is solely labeled as a shampoo instead of a hair & body wash. While I find this odd, comparing the ingredients in this shampoo to some of their (Gerbers Grins & Giggles) hair & body washes the contents are nearly the same.
With that in mind I went ahead and used Grins & Giggles Baby Shampoo Aloe Vera for not only my sons hair, but also for a body wash. My only reason for doing that is that I dont see any reason to put one soap on my sons head and then drag out a whole different bottle of soap for his body. Especially when the contents of the soaps are the same.
Gerber claims that this shampoo is both Hypoallergenic and Tear-Free. From our experience the shampoo doesnt irritate my sons eyes, so the shampoo is gentle. The shampoo itself is a clear liquid with a light yellow tint.
As with any shampoo the directions indicate that you should wet the hair and then apply the shampoo with your hands. After lathering, you should rinse the shampoo out with clear water. This Baby Shampoo lathers really well and makes quite a bit of suds, but at the same time is fairly easy to rinse out also. The shampoo left my sons hair silky and lightly scented.
The only thing I didnt care for was the actual scent of the shampoo. The shampoo has a fairly strong smell to it, especially while your lathering it up in your childs hair. I felt it was a bit strong and not at all desirable.
Like I said, I also used this to wash my sons body and I didnt notice any differences between this shampoo and Grins & Giggles hair & body washes. This worked sufficiently for both.
Overall the performance of Grins & Giggles Baby Shampoo was pretty good. You may like the scent, so it is definitely worth a try Or at least a sniff the next time your in the baby/toddler aisle.
