| imaboveitall's Full Review: Gerber Infant Spoons |
Gerber has been around for a long time, and I know these spoons have been around for a long time, but I think they kind of missed the boat on these, to some extent.
They're really simple - a metal spoon with a rubber coating over the bowl of the spoon. The bowl of the spoon is nice and shallow so you don't accidentally get too big of a bite - these are infant spoons, after all. The rubber coating is so that when they bite down, their tender gums aren't biting on hard metal. When you use these spoons, they still usually don't have teeth, or maybe only one or two.
The problem with these is the handle. It's this little bitty, thin, slender handle that's rather short to boot. I'm not a great big person, but these spoons just aren't very comfortable in my hands because I feel like I'm trying to hold on to almost nothing.
They do last, I'll give you that. The rubber might temporarily stain, but eventually washes away. I haven't had one to rust, and the rubber stays attached to the spoon. But I really don't like trying to use them, they're just too small for me - and the time you will be using them, your baby is too young to feed themselves! Try the Munchkin baby spoons, I think you'll like those a lot better.
