Pros:Yummy, nutritious, and easy to include in a picnic.
Cons:I don't have any around the house at the moment!
The Bottom Line: These are great for kids of all ages!!!
Gerber's Meat Sticks were designed with toddlers in mind--which is why I first discovered that they existed back when I was almost 11 years old (1963) by visiting my 1962-born cousin, Denise, during one of her meal times.
Those sticks looked soooooooooo gooooooooood to me that I just HAD to have one--or more, but I didn't want to steal Denise's entire lunch.
Besides, Mommy & Daddy were giving me their famous "Behave yourself or else!" looks after observing me relieving Denise of a mere single one of hers.
Now that I'm an adult, I've been known to use them in very adult ways--ways that even Mommy & Daddy approve of (not only approve of but, also, participate in).
The main way is for many of our Happy New Year car picnics--where we three bears start out in one year going out to look at the lights and arrive back home in the next year.
This usually includes a little car-picnic with easy-to-manage food such as oranges, cans of pop, chips, and, of course, those wonderful toddler-type meat sticks.
As long as they aren't opened, they don't have to be refrigerated--and they're easier to open in the car (and safer, too, due to not having sharp lids) than Vienna sausages.
Being meant to be used as a main course for toddlers, I would assume that these sticks--which come in chicken, turkey, and meat flavors--are more nutritious, too.
When my dad was toothless during the time between when his remaining teeth were removed and his dentures were ready, this was something that he was able to chew with his gums.
The same with at least one of my aunts.
But I have all of my teeth but my wisdom teeth (I'd lost my common sense long before their removal!), and I still will tell you that meat sticks aren't just for toddlers.
If you don't believe me, try them for yourself!
