The only pacifier my baby uses is the Nuk orthodontic pacifier. She showed a preference for this shape early on. That was fine with me, because I trust the Gerber name. So that part was up to her, but the rest is up to me. What color, what design? Dressing up my baby girl is really fun! So the paci HAS to match the outfit!! I only buy the Classic colors, because they are all white with a hint of pastel color on the handle. My particular taste for infants runs in the pastel family of color, and Elly's binky is always coordinated with the rest of her outfit.
This may seem silly and shallow, but really it stems from an insecurity at how some people view pacifiers as ugly and unnecessary. I initially wasn't thrilled that Elly wanted one, so by choosing a pacifier that didn't stand out I could accept it easier. Of course, now I am glad that she has it when she wants it, and I treat it like just another accessory.
These also come in 3 sizes, and have the recommended air holes, too. I know Elly enjoys them, and now I enjoy them, too.
