The Bottom Line: Although other storage systems are not as convenient and require more space, I would not use these bags because the leaks cause too much heartache.
Initially I was impressed with these bags. They are easy to fill and the zipper closes easily and securely. I used them to freeze breast milk. I filled them and laid them flat in the freezer. Once frozen, I placed them in chronological order in a large Rubbermaid container and shut them away in my deep freeze for later use. What a proud mama I was seeing all those bags of precious breast milk waiting for my baby. (I'm not the only mother I've heard compare pumped breast milk to liquid gold.) Now that I am in the thaw and serve mode I am not so pleased. Many of the bags have developed holes in them and leak while thawing. Most of the holes seem to occur either in the top right corner, at the seam just below the zipper or in the bottom left corner. You can't imagine my dismay when I placed a bag in the sink to thaw only to come back and find an empty bag. Another time I inspected a bag for holes and seeing none I set it into a container of hot tap water. Again I returned to find the bag had leaked all of its contents. Now I thaw them in a container so that if it leaks I can pour out of the container into a bottle.
