Pros: Child feels wet/dirty immediately. Machine wash and dry, saves $ and environment.
Cons: Availability.
The Bottom Line: If you are tempted to not use disposable trainers, I highly recommend using this classic training pant. Cute designs & solid colors. Fits little bums.

| pdxmama's Full Review: Gerber Soft Care Training Pants |
I knew that I wanted to avoid disposable Pull-Ups when it came to potty training, so I stocked up on these. I was really surprised how difficult they were to find. I ended up buying most of them at either K-Mart or Babies R Us. Not sure why it's so difficult to find them as they used to be the norm not so long ago. These were sold in 3 packs for $6.00.
I wanted to avoid Pull-ups because I felt that they were expensive to buy, not reusable, and wouldn't really give my child the actual sensation of peeing or pooing her pants. I know, they come with feel-and-learn, but that is an artificial sensation and there's a distinct lack of wetness running down the leg. Sorry, probably TMI - but it is why I chose them.
So far, we've had a lot of luck with these. They are easy enough for her to pull up and down by herself, but they don't just fall off, like her regular 2T/3T panties do. I can see that even as she gets more adept at using the toilet, she'll probably have to wear them because the smallest size of regular underpants are too large. She likes the different designs (we even bought a pack of "boy" blue colors - they were dog themed with paw prints, doggies, balls&bones). We have probably 18 or 21 different pairs. She treats the trainers like they are underpants (not a diaper) and tries to keep them dry.
Dislikes - availability. K-Mart had them sometimes, but not all sizes. Babies R Us had excellent selection of sizes and colors (I really stocked up there!). On line, I tried Gerber's website, they only refer you to stores that carry them - too bad for them, it may have been worth my while to order them online from them.
When we go out and about, I use the Gerber Vinyl training pant/covers over the cotton pants. They were also at BRU and K-Mart 2 for $6.00. You don't need as many, since they are only for when you might not be able to make it to the potty.
