Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie's plot.
Get A Clue! A movie enjoyed equally by my 9 year old daughter and six year old son. As a family we have watched this movie numerous times. A harmless, safe for children to view thriller. This movie reminds me of an episode of Nancy Drew, really a movie the entire family can view together.
A very unhappy Turtle Wexler and her family have just moved from their very nice country home into an awful apartment building. Turtle is not happy that they have moved and makes sure everyone is aware of this fact. How will she survive living in the city? As a consolation Turtle notices a creepy looking mansion next door. Turtle soon finds out this is no ordinary creepy mansion it is in fact "the haunted Westing Mansion." Being the super sleuth that she is, Turtle decides she must investigate further. After accepting a dare, Turtle enters the mansion, where she finds the murdered body of Mr.Westing!!
The next thing you know, several residents of Turtle's apartment building (including her family) are called together for the reading of old man Westings' will. Here they learn that they are all to be partnered up and given a list of clues in order to solve the murder mystery. The person who solves the mystery will receive a $20 million dollar reward.
I wonder who did it? You will have to watch the movie to find out!
Based on the Newberry Award Winning Book The Westing Game was written by Ellen Raskin. This movie has been rated PG for "mild thematic elements." Get A Clue! is a nice addition to your children's DVD collection.
This DVD lasts approximately 95 minutes and is an enjoyable way for you and your children to spend some time together. Who will make the first guess as to who the murderer is, you or your child? Who will be right?
