I am a make-up junky. I'm one of those girls that has a drawer (or two) full of make-up. I like to try new products all the time. I'm pretty much a MAC make-up gal, but ran out of my Studio Fix and decided to try Benefit's Get Even Powder Foundation that my sister had given to me.
I have both the Get Even 02 (medium) and Get Even 03 (Dark). Get Even 02 is way to light for me and Get Even 03 is way to dark for me. I'm having to blend the two with a foundation brush to get it to match my current skin tone. It's a little time consuming if you ask me and makes it difficult for a quick touch up when needed. I have olive toned combination skin. I find that the coverage I get from Benefit's Get Even foundation is very light compared to the other products I have used. Mac's Studio fix gives me full coverage as does Lauren Mercier's compact foundation. I do not have flawless skin. I have new freckles and beauty marks that show up as I get older. I like the full coverage look and that's probably why Benefit's Get Even isn't a fit for me.
I once read that the philosophy behind Benefit Cosmetics is for quick and easy fixes. I think those who would benefit most from this product are people that don't really like to wear make-up or like really light coverage. The other bummer about this product is that it only comes in three shades: 01 light, 02 medium, and 03 dark. It's hard to find a quick exact match. With MAC I know exactly what shade I am depending on what time of year it is. They have so many variable shades that you can find your exact match. Spring and Summer I am an NC42 and in the Winter and Fall I'm an NC35.
There are other products that I love from Benefit, but this isn't one of them. I use their BadGal mascara regulary and have to admit it's one of my Top 3 picks for mascara.
