Pros:Concise overview with a step-by-step solution.
Cons:Not a magic bullet. Requires some commitment.
Every night 5 to 7 million children across the country wet their bed (according to the National Kidney Foundation). This is such an important issue that baseball great Mark McGwire of St. Louis has gone on the record as a former bedwetter and has lent his name and image to the NKF for publicity.
Bedwetting is one of the last great silent issues. People don't like to talk about it because they are afraid their child will be labeled as lazy or lacking self control. These are myths and the problem can be overcome. In the mean time children with unresolved bedwetting are excluded from overnight stays with friends and families, overnight camps and even family vacations. Often the child is shamed and his or her self esteem is compromised. It doesn't have to be that way.
The book "Getting to Dry" is written by the TRY for DRY Team of Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago and is the best selling book about bedwetting sold on the internet by both amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.
This epinion is not totally unbiased as I am the marketing director for the TRY for DRY program and lent editorial assistance to the writing of the book.
I will suggest though, if you have a child who is a deep sleeper and has never been dry at night, you might want to take a look at this book. It includes a comprehensive overview of the problem of pediatric nocturnal enuresis and offers a step-by-step solution to resolving your child's wetting.
This book is recommended for parents as well as physicians and other healthcare professionals who treat children who wet. For more information visit www.tryfordry.com Cover price $14.95 softcover.
