Pros: Continually waters plants without the harsh water pressure from spraying hoses.
Cons: May crimp and prevent water from continuing, but only if you let it.
The Bottom Line: All-in-all, I give this soakin' hose a five out of five. I'd prefer it over using spraying hose that would rip them up or stir the soil.

A Big Mistake That Turned Out Great:
.....A couple of years ago, we moved from Pennsylvania to South Carolina after my mother had received a new job offer. We moved into a small complex of twenty-four homes. The complex was only half finished when we arrived and there was muddy clay everywhere. Dave, the owner, had decided to lay strips of grass in each lawn other than planting seeds. These lawns had to be watered constantly for the first few weeks in order to maintain their color without turning brown. Well, my mom went out one day to purchase a hose to water our lawn everyday. And like always, she doesn't read the item labels and ended up getting the wrong thing. What we wanted was a real hose, and she accidentally got a weeping hose.
.....Well, a couple of weeks later after moving in, Dave, the landowner, offered me the simple job of just watering lawns. He paid me every week to move sprinklers around every yard to cover each part thoroughly. Of course he supplied me with the hoses and sprinklers, but I ended up using this hose, too. It was a great help in my job. And Im sure many gardeners would find it quite useful.
Just What Is A Weeping Hose?
..A weeping hose is different from a normal garden hose in that you cant connect a sprayer at the end of it and still have good water pressure. This is because the entire length of the hose is covered in thousands of tiny pores that allow water to pass through to allow a gentle watering as opposed to a regular hose. Using a regular hose can be to harsh on the plants and may rip up the soil surrounding if too much pressure is used. With this hose, a gentle flow will water plants, flowers, trees, and shrubbery. A most certainly must-have for any greenhouse or gardener.
The Package:
..The Water Weeper comes like any other garden hose. It is rolled up in either a 25, 50 or 100 foot coil with cable ties holding it together. On the front is a cardboard sheet covering it with all the information to go started. It also has the LIFETIME WARRANTY stated. In big letters, it states that it is a SOAKING HOSE, but somehow my mother seemed to have missed that (we tried it out and thought there was something wrong with it because it was leaking. Lol)
End To End Picture:
..This hose is quite different from your average garden hose. You will feel the difference the first time you pick it up. All fifty feet is black with two brass end pieces for a great look. The whole body is composed of 100% recycled vinyl. This allows the weeper to be highly weather and wear resistant. There are tens of thousands of tiny pores covering the entire surface of the hose that let the water flow out evenly along the length of the hose.
The End Pieces:
..The Gilmour Water Weeper has two brass end pieces. First of all, this means that they wont get bent too easily. I once had a hose where the piece that connected to the faucet could easily bend with my fingers. Come on now, Ive seen better quality at the Dollar store. But anyways, these ends wont be damaged easily. The faucet connector easily screws onto the faucet with ease. The rubber washer inside the lip provides a nice water-tight seal that keeps water from springing a leak. The end piece has a little cap on it to keep water in the hose to exit through the sides. It has grips on it to allow you to take it off and add another hose to it and extend it farther. Just make sure the end of the hose has a cap or the water may run out. If you connect more than one hose together, make sure your water line has enough pressure to push water through the entire length.
Positioning:
..When you are ready to use the Weeper, just lay it in the path you want watered. It fits snugly around landscapes. Weave it around plant roots for maximum coverage. The hose can be put in any position to your needs. Always make sure there are no crimps in the hose. One crimp could cause no watering past that point and over watering in the area before the crimp.
..If you have a landscape you water daily and would like to make the hose placement permanent, you can bury it under the ground. It is made to work both above and below ground. With it underground, it wont move too much from water pressure. This is also a very cheap alternative to very expensive in-ground irrigation systems for thousands of dollars. All you need to do is dig a small two inch wide ditch and run the hose through it, covering it with dirt when done.
Weight:
..The Water Weeper is a light-weight at only about 4.65 pounds for the fifty-footer. This is only one-third the weight of regular garden hoses. This creates less drag and is easier to pull around the yard. When rolled up it feels just like youre holding an inner tube for a pool. No weight at all.
A Few Minor Problems:
..There are only a few small problems that I found about the Gilmour Water Weeper. For one, if you have the hose connected up to a faucet that is connected to your house up off the ground, the water coming out of the hose in that section will run down the hose and may form a puddle at the faucet area. And the other somewhat major problem, as mentioned earlier, was the hose getting crimps in it. If not placed properly, one crimp could cause major issues. If you get one, just undo it and squeeze the hose where the creases were to open it up. Other than that, this product is A-okay.
The Good And Bad On Warranty:
..The bad news: This hose doesnt come with a one or two year warranty as many others do. The good news: it comes with a FREE LIFETIME REPLACEDMENT GUARANTEE. Definitely blows off the bad news. Gilmour is a company that specialized in quality lawn maintenance and builds long-lasting equipment with LIFETIME WARRANTIES on most items. Should there be any problem with this hose, it can be returned for a free replacement.
Last Words:
..Do I like it? Rootin tootin I do. Though it was purchased by mistake, it turned out to be a good one. It is great for the everyday gardener to the advanced major greenhouse people. There is no job too big or too small. It is better than a solid hose that could harm plants and stir up the soil around them. It can be buried underground for permanent placement that saves hundreds to installing fancy lawn irrigation systems.
