Smart water? What the heck is that? I had no idea, but I was thirsty while walking around in Target one day after work and needed a cold bottle of something. I’m trying to cut back on my Pepsi intake so decided that a nice big bottle of water would work. I found Glaceau Smart Water in the cooler area and decided to give it a try as the large liter bottle was on sale for only $1.00. There is only so much you can say about a bottle of water, so this will be short and sweet. :-)

Glaceau Smart Wateris vapor distilled electrolyte enhanced water, which is designed to keep you hydrated. This water is available in many sizes for a cheap price. The bottle itself is like every other water bottle. It’s a plain, clear see-through plastic bottle with screw-off lid. The larger bottles are a little large for the hand to hold, but the smaller bottles are easy to use for exercising or outdoor activities. The price ranges from $.99 - $2.19, depending on what size you purchase.

Glaceau Smart Water was decently priced compared to other sport type drinks. Since this water is designed to keep you hydrated, I would definitely consider it on par with sports drinks and not other types of water. Sometimes when I am outside either cycling or running, Gatorade and other sports drinks just do not appeal to me because of flavor issues. Having a large bottle of cold water on hand is just so appealing at times when I am hot and sweating.

Having Glaceau Smart Water is just an added benefit because I know I am staying hydrated and also drinking something good for me. Compared to other water, this water is slightly more expensive because it only comes in single bottles, but it also has an extra benefit that you do not get with regular water. I have seen this water on sale at Target many times and I usually grab a couple of bottles at those times. The only complaint I have about this water is that the bottles are not ridged in any way, so it's a little to smooth to have a good grip on, especially when I am running.

Overall, I do like using this water every so often when I know I’ll be outside or involved in some activity wear I know I’ll be hot and expending a lot of energy. I do recommend it to help keep you hydrated if you are tired of sports drinks.
