This is a 2002 model (lame epinions drop-down only goes to 2001 no doubt due to the fact that there are maybe three full-time employees left).
Regal looks good and impresses those found on inland lakes for the most part. Don't expect to wow anyone in the Miami Beach area.
Just don't buy ANY new boat unless you are at peace with the first three years' depreciation being nothing short of astonishing.
The most important decision in a vessel like this is the power- choose Volvo and only Volvo. Read all you like about Mercruisers vs. Volvo then buy the Volvo Pentas. No comparison, period. Shift any Merc from forward to neutral to reverse and back, then the Volvo- the difference is dramatic. Of course, if you want your transmission to announce each shift with a loud CLUNK, choose the Merc.
This Regal cabin cruiser is well made, comes with great features, handles moderate chop well, is big enough to spend a weekend and outperforms SeaRay for less money.
