When Beanie Babies first came out they were supposed to be for the little kids so they would have something to play with. Little did we know, after about a year since Beanie Babies were released I started collection because I thought they were pretty cool. The first one I ever got was Brownie. I believe it is worth some big money now. The reason I got them was simple, I thought they looked cool. After a while I stopped collecting them because it was basically pointless at that time to be buying things like that.

A little bit after I stopped buying them Beanie Babies started to become very popular. When I went into stores you had the chance to reserve yours before they were even in the store. I really thought it all was pretty crazy. I still wrote my name on a few lists and bought some. A little bit longer I figured I would try to sell three. The three I was gonna sell were the American Trio. I put an add in the paper and got an offer for over a thousand dollars. Without hesitation I sold them. Not to bad of a profit when you buy all three for $15.
The Beanie craze was alive for a long time. You would see people waiting in seemingly endless lines to get their hands on a certain Beanie Baby. I believe this became an obsession to many people. I will have to admit it's not bad the way you can make money off of these, but I would never wait 3 hours in line for one of them. I have sold all of mine except Brownie and I have made over $5,000. Not to bad huh? The craze for the Beanies isn't as strong as it used to be. It's not at the point where parents are shoving their kids in tight places to get their hands on one. I was really surprised once to see that a lady put her son in danger to get a five dollar toy.
I will admit though that if I could I would probably buy everyone ever made. They are just so cute! Every Beanie has a poem written on the inside of the tag and what day they were born. Every Beanie seems to have some kind of meaning behind it. They are really cute.
If you want to be a good seller make sure that you keep them out of all smoke and keep their tags in 100% condition. I'm sure many of you collect these like me, but would you be willing to do stupid things for these? In conclusion, Beanies are the cutest thing ever, but not worth doing what some people would do for them.
