Barrett Christy - The Perfect Snowboard?

I’m a guy and I love this board! My girlfriend was in the market for a freestyle board last year. After much research, she narrowed it down to the Barrett Christy 148. The 148 is just the right length and sidecut with perfect camber and flex for park and pipe riding.
GNU hooked the Barrett’s up with Correct Cap torsion box construction for just the right flex in all the right places. Power X Sextaxial Glassweave, the best GNU has to offer, provides the board with precise responsiveness and reduced overall weight. Sintered 9900 Base allows for maximum wax absorption and durability. Tucked-In Edges are tucked into the tip and tail for safety, weight reduction and durability. To top things off, Barrett threw on some killer graphics to both last years’ `99/`00 models as well as this years’ `00/`01 models.
My girlfriend loves the board. She’s still learning to ride in the park and pipe, but she’s lucky enough to have the perfect board to be learning on. A male shop owner I know took the 152 out for a day because he wanted to see what all the rave was about. He loved it so much that he considered purchasing one for himself! In the end, he didn’t, possibly for fear of peer ridicule for purchasing a board labeled as “women's”. I myself would love to ride it, but have not had the chance. I ride strap bindings while my girlfriend rides step-ins. To try out each other’s boards, we have to switch bindings. It’s annoying enough of a job that we haven’t done it yet. Maybe I’ll get to try it out this season (in which case I will update this Epinion).
The 2000/2001 models depict animals on the North American Endangered Species List that have been threatened by human activity. Barrett and GNU will be donating a portion of her board sales to the Youth for Environmental Sanity (Y.E.S.). Y.E.S. is dedicated to taking positive actions for the future of life on earth. Being animal lovers as well as avid snowboarders, we support their efforts and are impressed with everything Barrett has done in the snowboarding industry.
You don’t need to be a pro to ride a pro model. I would suggest this board even for the novice snowboarder if they don’t mind paying the higher cost for the advanced technology that has been put into the board. Take good care of it and the Barrett should last you a lifetime. This may not be the perfect board for everyone, but with four sizes to choose from, Barrett and GNU come pretty close to making everyone happy… Well… At least every female rider.
