Pros: Can record from DVD to VHS if not write protected.
Cons: Cannot adjust the auto tracking.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend the player to anyone looking for and inexpensive DVD, VHS player that will last, if you want to take the time to learn to run it.

| late42's Full Review: Soyo DVR4250 DVD Player / VCR Combo |
My wife and I bought this player because of the price when we compared it to others. Without the user manual it is a little difficult to program. But despite this, and the auto tracking problem, it is a fairly good machine. Even VHS tapes are clear when played. It does not record the best picture from TV however. The picture is usually a little snowy and gets worse the slower you record. I record a lot of programs because of my job. The few times I watched a program that I usually record I noticed a clearer picture. All in all, for the price and the DVD player that works excellent (although it does not record) it is a good value for the money we spent. I have recommended it to relatives who have bought it and they seem satisfied. I did have to help my brother-in-law learn how to program it. We have owned ours for a little over a year and have had now problem with it. That is a big plus for me.
