Pros:Macaulay Culkin was one great actor in his role!

Cons:Scary!

The Bottom Line: If you are into psychology, this movie is something you may want to watch.

Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie's plot.

The first time I saw this movie in 1994 at a theatre, I really enjoyed watching this movie very much. Why? Because Macaulay Culkin was playing the role of a very sociopath child. It is high time that he takes the role of playing this boy. He played as Henry in this movie.

Henry's cousin who was his mother Susan's nephew came to spend some time with the family because his father went on a business trip and wanted someone to look after his son.

Nobody in the family had any clue that Henry had a very dark and dangerous side to his personality. Even when he drowned his baby brother in the bath tub a year or so earlier, his parents never suspected him of doing this.

Henry was known to everyone as the "Good Son."

When Henry and his cousin went out wandering into the woods, they were sharing stories with one another and then later on, they went to climb some trees. Well, by the time the cousin got out from behind a tree, he could not find Henry. After a few minutes, Henry appears, but he has this real bizarre look on his face which spelled trouble.

Then as time went on, Henry's dark side came out more and more. When he and his cousin took a walk near the cliff side, Henry tried to push his cousin off a cliff and his cousin was begging for his life. Henry just stood there grinning and daring his cousin to say something that may perhaps prompt him to push him off the cliff for good. After some few terrifying minutes, Henry finally pulls his cousin up back on the surface. But his cousin did not trust him anymore and he went and informed Susan about her son's behavior, but his aunt would not believe a word the boy was telling her. She just shrugged him off as if it was nothing to be concerned about. Henry did overhear his cousin telling his mother and Henry decided to tell his side of the story which of course was a bunch of lies.

When a psychologist came to the house, the cousin was the first person he spoke to. Then Henry spoke to him second, by saying that his cousin has a real mental problem and that he needed some help real badly. He turned the near fatal cliff accident around saying that his cousin tried to push him off the cliff. The psychologist believed every word Henry told him. The cousin was just so horrified upon hearing Henry say all these lies and so, this time, he really had to tell Henry's mother Susan about her son's capability to kill. Susan still did not want to hear anything about it and insisted that there was nothing wrong with Henry, but that was soon to all crumble.

When Susan went into her basement to look for something, she found the yellow rubber duck that her youngest son used to play with when he was alive. She just held it and held it and then, she decided to take a walk down by the cliff side where Henry almost had his cousin killed at. When she got there, Henry had already followed her and grabbed the duck from her hands and threw it off the cliff. Both mother and son were fighting and here comes Susan's nephew. Henry pushes his mother off the cliff, but she is hanging by a thread, begging for her life and her nephew pushed her son off the cliff and then pulled his aunt to safety. Henry was now dangling, but he looked pretty much like he did not care if he fell to his death or not and he did let go and died.

This boy was absolutely psychotic. It is so ironic how for all this time, his parents never suspected that their first born had it, but in reality, it does happen and so, it is very important to watch for any tell tail signs. Don't regard it as if it were something your child may grow out of because this may well be some danger signs. Nothing is worth pretending because it can well cost you and your other family members their lives.

This is a very well made movie and so, in case you have not seen this yet, it is on video at most video stores.
