Pros:Absolutely the best tires ever... for the first 10,000 miles.
Cons:Despite initial impressions, long term experience is very negative.
The Bottom Line: Excellent tires for the first 10,000 miles. But Goodyear is refusing to accept responsibility for obvious defects. This is just another class action lawsuit waiting to happen.
Based on good reviews, I bought these tires for my wife's Caravan. At first I was very impressed! Handling, noise, comfort, dry traction, wet traction were all much improved. At 10,000 miles I noticed a balance problem, but the Goodyear dealer couldn't fix it with a rotation and rebalance. At 20,000 miles the van would wobble side to side from startup up to 50 mph where it would smooth out. This is the exact opposite of out of balance. The Goodyear store refuse to acknowledge a problem with the tires, stating instead that there was a problem with the van. My mechanic showed me the real problem. When he revolved the wheel while on a lift, I could see that the tire was 2" out of round... all 4 tires. He said that the steel belting was broken. None of the tires showed exterior damage. I drive 50,000 miles a year and have never dealt with a problem like this. Goodyear refuses to replace the tires or even acknowledge they are defective. I guess they don't have to worry about giving out 80,000 mile warranties if they can refuse to acknowledge defects. So guess what my wife is getting for Valentine's Day... Michelins.
