Pros: Great wet weather performance, great tread wear, a reasonable price.
Cons: Over time, they become much too noisy. You will learn to hate them.
The Bottom Line: I would not recommend these tires because of the noise. They ended up costing me a lot more money.

I purchased a set of four Aquatred 3 tires after some research. I was looking for a speed rated tire available in the right size for my '99 Ford Contour Sport. I have found in general that it is not easy to find a practical tire with good wet weather performance and good tread wear in a "performance" tire size (60 series) and with a speed rating. Most tires available are "performance" tires, meaning bad value, too expensive, bad tread wear, bad wet performance. Aquatred 3 offered a reasonable price, great wet performance, and great tread wear. I was immediately impressed by them. In wet conditions, they give you a feeling of security and control. By now, I have replaced two tires after about 65,000 miles on the front of a front wheel drive car (no, I am not a believer in spending time and money rotating tires), but I am still using the two rear tires after 83,000 miles and they still have legal tread depth. That's very good mileage. Here is the problem: Over time they have become very, very noisy. As the noise grew, I began to be concerned about what was wrong with my car. I actually spent hundreds of dollars troubleshooting the problem and replacing two rear hubs, only to find out that it did not correct the problem, and that the real problem was with the tires. I should have realized this when I replaced the front two tires and noticed a reduction of road noise, but I didn't. The road noise is now so high that it sounds like something is definitely wrong, and yes, it bothers me a lot. I bought these tires to save money in the long run, and I ended up paying hundreds for unnecessary car repairs. No, I would never buy these tires again.
