Pros: Lack of wet traction lets you get lots of foot massages from the ABS.
Cons: Bad wet grip, prone to road hazard damage.
The Bottom Line: Overpriced, Underperforming, Scary and Dangerous on wet roads. Even econobox sedans deserve better tires.

| fritz_t_coyote's Full Review: Goodyear Eagle LS Passenger/Performance Tire |
The Goodyear Eagle LS (p205/r16) came from the factory on my 2002 PT Cruiser (Touring edition). I didn't have a choice of tire manufacturers, as the automakers buy trainloads of mediocre tires from big makers like Goodyear.
Happily I did have a choice to order ABS and Traction Control, which is essential if you want to drive even a modestly powered car on these overpriced jelly donuts.
In 9800 miles, mostly highway, the tires have had an acceptable grip on dry roads.
Wet traction is almost non-existent, spinning, and invoking traction control under normal acceleration, and kicking in the anti-lock brakes way too often. They were free from hydroplaning, but it was nerve-wracking to drive in the rain.
Comfort: Besides nicely transmitting bumps to the driver, and an annoying whine at highway speed (which turns into a frightening howl on some textured pavement) the worst discomfort is not being able to trust the tires on rainy days.
Snow: Sort of like wet, only worse. On hardpack they are nearly frictionless. Very Scary.
Durability: Easily damaged by potholes, no road hazard warranty (Goodyear knows how fragile these things are).
So there it was... a little bulge on the sidewall, and growing fast. Probably a pothole did it in. So time to check out the warranty: No road hazard. And Goodyear dealers want 100$ a corner for a replacement. As far as I was concerned it would be throwing good money after bad, rewarding Goodyear for making a lousy tire.
Time to trade up. I figure 4 good new tires will be a better investment than replacing 1 mediocre tire.
