Pros: Absolutely none.Ban them!
Cons: Ban the tires. They are a dangerous menace to the traveling public.
The Bottom Line: For any travel trailer with a dry weight in excess of 10,000 lbs. These tires are a big risk, whether your tires are at 65 psi or not.

| candoall's Full Review: Goodyear Marathon Radial Trailer Utility Tire |
In December 2003, I bought a new 2004 Fleetwood Prowler Travel Trailer. Unfortunately,it was equipped with the Goodyear Marathon P225/75 R15 tires.
My wife and I are weekend travelers. The travel trailer and its tires have faced nominal mileage on paved, good quality roads.
Our first failure of the tires occurred last June. It wasn't even in motion at the time. It had been sitting parked for a couple of days when the front right tire sprouted a balloon and then burst the next day. Camping Time RV out of Woodstock came to my aid and replaced that tire with another of the same.
Thanksgiving eve, we were in the south of Georgia. I stopped for gas, and as always, inspected the tires. The rear right tire was gone. It had disintegrated leaving two narrow rubber strips circling the rim. My wife and I would have been stranded if not for a Good Samaritan from South Carolina who was visiting his sister.
I bought a replacement tire that was not a Goodyear product.
A little over a month later, January 2, we were headed west along I-16 near Savannah. We had only driven approximately 40 miles since I fueled the truck and had inspected the tires. A passing motorist signaled toward my tires. I pulled off the highway immediately. The right front replacement Marathon Radial Tire had also disintegrated. Thanks to a Highway Patrolman, I was only sidelined for 3 hours while he managed to locate a tire service.
I presented all 3 occurrences to Goodyear and Fleetwood.
Both have had me going through hoops with their disputing any responsibility. It was only once I had visited a Goodyear service center, that I learned the truth of these tires. The manager there told me that the P225/75 R15 tires have a carrying capacity of 2650 lbs. He told me, that based on the weight of my trailer, we should be equipped with the larger tire with a capacity of 3200 lbs. He added that at the P225/75 R15 was its limit with my trailer, a risk at full inflation at imminent peril with a 10% deflation.
I presented this information to Goodyear. Customer Non-service persons have had me take my time and use my fuel to take the trailer to three separate locations(almost 200 miles): for inspection of the trailer, the blown tires(the corpses were on the highways-what a waste of time-duh) and to weigh the trailer and my towing vehicle.
After submitting my receipts for the replacement tires and servicing to Goodyear, I finally received a voice mail message offering me one-half of my receipted expenses. There was no response to my request to replace my remaining Marathons. There was a negative response, that their policy does not cover time or travel costs.
Now is that customer service, or what?!
I do intend to gather all complaints about these Marathon Tires and present them to the National Highways Transportation Agency. I want these tires banned before anyone is killed because of these tire failures.
I hope such a tragedy does not come first.
