Pros: Affordable, great smell, lasts a long time, holds up well, makes your hair look nicer
Most recently I've been working at a job where I'm encouraged to look as decent and professional as I can and the school I'm enrolled in also has a conservative outlook on how your hair should look. Usually I keep my hair either really long or really short, but recently I've been growing out my hair by a) being lazy and b) seeing what happens with it. In a vain way to help make my mop look better and not as crazy curly as it is I opted to try the Got2B Playful hair pomade on a friend's recommendation and I have to say it has worked wonders on my hairdo.
This is available in a tiny 2oz container that actually has more uses than I was expecting. On average I've used this product 6 times a week for the past three months and am just not running out. That's to say that I began using it when my hair was shorter (about an inch) whereas it's now at least three or four). My hair, as I've stated, is also extremely cury and has callicks everywhere, which creates this uneven playing field making styling seemingly impossible.
However, I place about a nickel-sized amount of this stuff on my fingers and then massage together to rough up my hair right after I've showered and it makes my hair a whole lot better. What's great about this product is that it's not like a lot of gels or other cream-based hair products where your hair will be sticky or flaky as the day wears on and lose structure.
I've worked twelve-hour shifts where this stuff has held up extraordinarily well and under strenuous circumstances. This has worked on the more 'playful' model when I've spiked my hair occasionally or made it look purposefully messy, but it also works great when I apply it to my scalp and then comb my hair neatly. It holds strength and definitely lives up to the 'playful' moniker as it retains a playful and airy sort of look that lasts. It's not really held together by glue, but makes my hair look natural and fun (when it wants to be).
The fragrance is also really refreshing in this fruity sort of way and it's not sticky when you half an itch to scratch. What's great is that it honestly makes your hair look like there's nothing in it. I cannot recommend this product enough. I don't really have any qualms with it. Five bucks for 2oz of stuff that lasts a few months is a great deal especially considering the quality of this. If you've given up on other items of this nature, give the Got2B Playful a second look.
