Pros: Perfectly adapted for small children
When my daughter was eighteen months old we bought this bed for her, she had been climbing out of her crib, so we figured it was time to try a toddler bed. To be honest I was skeptical at first and didn't think she would stay in this bed either, but I was wrong.
My husband and I went out shopping around, looking at many different brands of bed. My daughter liked this particular bed because of the three bears on the headboard. We also liked this bed, but it was because of the quality and the price. This bed was just as sturdy as the more expensive bed, and actually this one did have the cuter design on it.
When we got it home my husband started putting it together right away, considering it was almost bed time. Lucky for us it didn't take much time to put it together, it was just a matter of fifteen to twenty minutes, it had taken longer to get the crib taken apart. As soon as it was together I placed a new blanket and sheet set that I had purchased to help my daughter get use to her bed. The comforter was a Minnie Mouse and the sheets matched, but that wasn't what made my daughter get into the bed. It was the bed itself, she was now a big girl and she loved to have a big girl bed, it was mommy that had a problem dealing with her growing out of her crib. I know she didn't have to have this bed, she could of stayed in her crib, but I didn't want to take the chance of her hurting herself climbing out of it night after night.
The first night she slept in it she didn't wake up at all, I was worried about her so I ended up waking up often and checking in on her. I knew I didn't have to worry about the bed falling apart like some brand of beds have collapsed in the past. This bed is made out of sturdy steel rails that run along under the mattress, to hold the mattress in place. It also has heavy plastic bed rails that run on each side of the bed, over half-way down each side.
Even though now she has out grown this bed, I have it stored away waiting for my next daughter to use it. She will be using it within the next year. It held up very nicely and is just like new.
This bed is perfect for a child to get use to not having the rails around them, like they have in a crib. It also isn't that high off the ground so the child won't be afraid of hurting themselves if they fall out of the bed, which is almost impossible with the rails on each side, but it could happen. This is the best purchase for our child's room we have made, that is next to the crib. With my oldest daughter she never had a toddler bed and it took quite some time to get her use to a "Big" twin size bed. With the toddler bed it isn't much different then the crib that they are use to.
If you are looking for quality at a reasonable price then this is the bed for you and your child. I believe they carry this bed at Toys"R"Us, Kmart, Fred Meyer, and possibly Walmart.( and other children's furniture stores)
