  • Durability:
  • Ease of Use:

Pros:Good, safe, solid stroller.

Cons:Heavy, awkward to push.

The Bottom Line: Depend on how you plan to use a stroller. Good for short trips, but if you want to walk get a jogger.

First I guess I should explain that I must really like strollers since I own 4 of them. When I had my first child I got the stroller/car seat set from Evenflo and an umbrella stroller to use on public transportation in Boston. When my second child was born I was living in San Francisco in a tiny condo with no extra storage. I kept my eye out for a used double stroller that was small, but never purchased one. I ended up pushing one child and carrying one on my back. We then moved to Indianapolis and as soon as I found out I was pregnant with my third child (oldest was 3years 11 month and second was 25 month when she was born) I finally purchased a double stroller.

I first looked at the Combi sit and stand stroller. But once I found out that the back seat didn't lay down I moved on to the Graco. I knew that I wanted a double stroller that was long as opposed to tandem. I though a tandem would be too wide to navigate in tight stores or crowds.

I was thrilled when I got my Graco DuoGlider. I could now push both of my boys to the swimming pool and they could both nap on the way home.

Things I liked about the duoGlider.

It has harness straps to help hold the children in more securely. I really only used these when my kids would nap in the stroller. Particularly in the front seat that only slightly reclines.

It has a large basket under the stroller. I can stuff this basket with all of our coats, diaper bag and cooler for a museum visit or trip to the mall (and packages too).

Material is easy to clean. Being black I thought that it would fade quickly especially since we often took it to the pool. However it is now 3 1/2 years old and still looks good!

The trays and front sunshade are easily removable.

It is easy for a child to climb in and out of the front seat without the tray on by themselves. When I was pregnant I didn't have to keep lifting my kids out when we go to the museum or zoo. The back seat is a little more difficult for the children to climb in and out by themselves until they are about 2 1/2.

I think the manufacture says it can hold up to 80lbs. I've had 4 kids in it (probably close to 100 lbs) and other than having to push hard it was fine.

The back seat lies almost completely flat.

It has a cup holder and small covered compartment good for cell phone or camera.

Things I don't like about the DuoGlider

If you use a baby carseat in the rear the front seat doesn't recline and my children often bump their heads on the carseat.

Its not very easy to push. The stroller can pull to the side depending on how the child in the front seat is sitting. I find it easier to push the lighter child in front and the heavier in the back.

It is heavy. I think about 40 lbs. Lifting this in and out of my mini-van is not fun.

The front wheel have to be lined just right to get it to latch when folding it up.

The peek-a-boo window is in the back so you have to stoop down to peek on your baby. This window was on the top of my Evenflo stroller so I could look down and see my baby while walking.

The other stroller I own is also a bicycle trailer for 2 children. This stroller is a side by side with 3 pneumatic tires and I love it. I can't tell you how much easier it is to push. I could walk for hours and not strain my arms like I do with the DuoGlider. It is also lighter, although a little more difficult to fold up/set up for travel. And the side by side really isn't too bad. I've been in a few stores where it is a little more difficult, but I don't mind because it is so much easier to push this stroller. This stroller has less storage so I usually end up hanging coats on the back of it. However, my children usually prefer the DuoGlider. The older boys fight over the back seat and my daughter and niece fight over the front seat. But like I said earlier I've pushed all 4 in it.

Bottom line

If you are going to rarely/occasionally use a stroller this is fine. It is fine for quick trips to the mall. A decent price for a decent stroller. If you plan to do a lot of walking I would suggest you look at a stroller with pneumatic tires. I think it is totally worth the extra cost.
