We bought this bed for my little boy when he was two and a half. We were moving to a new apartment and I figured that was a good time to make the transition from crib to big boy bed.
We went to the toy store and viewed several different beds. We decided on this one because we thought the moon and stars were cute and liked the idea that we could use the crib mattress that we already had.
The bed was fairly simple to assemble. It took two adults about 15 minutes to put together.
At first I was a little skeptical about the beds strength as it has a cardboard support under the mattress but it has proven to be very sturdy indeed. It has supported the weight of my son and myself (with my big pregnant belly!) for many nights of stories.
The bed is designed so that it is very simple to change the sheets. This is a nice switch after the crib which was a major hassle.
There are rails on either side of the bed which is very important to me as my son is a roller and has toppled off the edge of many a bed.
While the moon and stars are a cute addition I have found that they don't hold their glow for very long. This doesn't seem to bother my son however as he has two night lights in his room already.
I have been very pleased with this bed so far and expect to get another good couple of years out of it.
