| Ophelia89's Full Review: Graco Glow-in-the Dark Toddler Bed |
We recently purchased this bed for my eighteen-month-old son and he instantly fell in love with it. Although, this was not our first choice for his first "big boy" bed (my husband wanted a race car bed!), this is definitely the best choice.
First of all, it is very simple to put together. The directions are straight forward and the diagrams made it easy to identify the different bolts and screws. It took my husband and I about twenty minutes to put the whole bed together.
The bed seems to be well constructed with a metal frame and the plastic headboard (with glow-in-the-dark stars and moon) and footboard. The bed is also equipped with plastic side rails that are the perfect size to keep my little restless sleeper from falling out of his new bed. It is also the perfect height for little ones to climb in and out of. The only thing I did not care for is the cardboard mattress support that fits under the crib-sized mattress, but it does seem to be holding up. My son made sure to give it a test by jumping on the bed!
Once we got the bed set up in his room and put on his brand new Winnie-the-Pooh sheets, my son was just thrilled with his new bed and could not wait to get in it. We actually had trouble getting him to come down to dinner. I guess he was just excited.
We have not had any trouble getting him to sleep in it and I think that is partly due to the glow-in-the-dark stars and moon because he is intrigued by them as soon as I turn off the lights and he stares at them until he falls fast asleep. I highly recommend this bed for anyone looking for their little ones' first "big" bed.
For those who might question whether to move there little one into a toddler bed or not, it is a good transition. My Nick would cry every morning for me to get him out of his crib. Now, since we have moved him, we have not heard a peep since. He like to wonder into Mommy and Daddy's room to wake us up in person instead!
