I received the Graco Rocking Entertainer as a gift at my baby shower. I had seen firsthand how much fun my brother's son had in his Entertainer, and was anxious to use it for my own baby.
When my son was about five months old, I decided it was time to give the Graco Rocking Entertainer a try. I tore open the box and dumped all the parts onto the floor. I read the instructions, and assembling the Entertainer didn't seem too difficult. I managed to get it put together in about twenty minutes (not too shabby!).
The first thing I noticed about the Entertainer was its vibrant, bright colors. Brilliant shades of blue, yellow, green, pink, red, orange, and purple were splashed all over. The base is a nice shade of periwinkle blue, with raised zig-zags on the bottom to keep baby's feet from slipping all over the place. The legs are bright yellow, and the top section is turquoise. The seat is made of 100% polyester fiber and is printed with multicolored jungle animals.
There are many toys on the Entertainer which provide hours of fun and stimulation for baby. The toys are as follows:
1. Four multicolored (pink, orange, yellow, and purple) plastic hearts which flip back and forth like a book.
2. Green plastic loop with multicolored (pink, yellow, and purple) round beads which baby can move back and forth.
3. Green spinning knob, which makes a clicking sound when moved around.
4. Two plastic bears (pink and yellow) which can be moved up and down to make clicking noises.
5. Pink squeaker button. When pressed, it makes a shrill noise.
6. Green squiggly plastic stem with a round yellow plastic piece (imprinted with dolphins) on top. This is by far my son's favorite toy on the Entertainer. He loves to chew on it.
7. Removable yellow plastic tray, which holds a red plastic telephone, a mirror (my son loves looking at himself!), purple steering wheel with a pink horn, a pink and purple spinning toy (my son loves this, also), and three musical buttons which play different tunes when pressed.
So as you can see, there are tons of activities to keep baby amused. The Entertainer has been my lifesaver numerous times when I needed a few minutes to straighten up, do some laundry, or do the dishes.
Another thing I love about the Graco Rocking Entertainer is that it is very easy to keep clean. Just take a wet washrag and wipe it off. No scrubbing is necessary - a huge plus in my book.
The only downside to the Entertainer is that the seat is somewhat difficult to remove when it needs washing. I have to wrestle with it to get the plastic knobs (which keep the seat secure) to let loose. Usually I end up taking a butter knife and prying it free. I suppose this could be looked at as a good thing, however - since the seat is so difficult to un-attach, I know my son is safe and not going anywhere while he is in it.
An added bonus to the Graco Rocking Entertainer is that is can be used for feedings when your baby is too big for the bouncy seat, yet too small for a regular high chair. Just put the seat in the 'lock' position, tie a bib on him, and feed! My son loves when we feed him in his Entertainer because it means he can play in between bites to eat :)
I would highly recommend the Graco Rocking Entertainer to anyone with a baby. If you know someone who is expecting, it would make a great shower gift! Two thumbs up!
