Graco, a well known name in carseats right? Wrong? That is what I use to to think 4 years ago when my son was born. But now that my new son of 7 weeks is here, I have come to curse his new Graco SnugRide over and over again.

Let me first say this. The Graco SnugRide CarSeat is your basic infant carseat. It has a variety of different patterns to chose from, such as wild animals, plaid patterns, and solid colors as well.

It is also priced at a wonderful $50.00 price. I don't know where they got their carseat, but at Target, it is $49.99. And it is not even on sale.

Those are not the problems that I am having. The problems are getting my son comfortable in the carseat. I have to roll up a blanket and put it on the side of his head because the head holder is too big. It is too big for a six month old, let alone a seven week old.

The seat belt is way to tight, or if not too tight, it is too loose. It is just not right. The straps cut the babies neck and you cant keep them tight, but then aain you can't keep them loose either, since that will be defeating the whole purpose of the carseat. So I have to wrap baby wash cloths around it so it doesn't cut into his neck and leave a rash from rubbing back and forth as he moves his head.

And the handle, I can honestly say that I prefer the handle that is swiveled. The handle on the Graco SnugRide is just curved for your hand, and honestly it makes it a bit hard to grab it. With the swiveled handle it takes a little bit of the weight off. And it is not as strenuous on your hands.

And last but not least, my final disappointment regarding the Graco SnugRide CarSeat, they do not fit in any, and I mean any shopping cart. I have gone to K-mart,Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Albertsons, and so on, and not one shopping cart will match up to the carseat. It is always leaning to one side, and honestly, we can't have that. And it never is stable. I am afraid it will tip right off the shopping cart. So I have to take 2 shopping carts instead of one so I can set it inside the cart. Makes life a little bit more difficult then I would want right now. I could put him in a stroller, but lugging around that, and fussing with opening it is more than enough for me.

My final thought is this. I have seen carseat change in the past 15 years since my first daughter was born. In my opinion, they should have just kept them simple. Simple, cheap, and made sure they worked properly. Not all these themes and gadgets, and what nots. A carseat is a carseat is a carseat. This one I can say is more of a seat! Don't buy it if your looking for a carseat that is reliable & comfortable. Go with another, and don't go with the first you see, look around and get the best for your money.
