If you love to shop and you're visiting the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Grapevine Mills is a MUST!
My first experience at the Grapevine Mills Outlet Mall in Grapevine, Texas (located about 2 miles north of the DFW Airport)was a fun one, but it left me feeling inadequate. Grapevine Mills boasts 1.5 million square feet of shopping!!
You know how you train for a marathon? Well, let's just say you definitely need to "prepare" for your trip to Grapevine Mills. There are so many shops, restaurants, and entertainment attractions within the mall, that they had the wonderful foresight to shape the mall like a racetrack. Wherever you start is where you'll end up at the end of your "race" around the mall. This really comes in handy when you're four hours into the day and realize your feet couldn't possibly turn around and make it all the way back to the store from which your started your shopping extravaganza!
I personally started at the JCPENNEY OUTLET CENTER. The thing I loved about this outlet mall (and JCPENNEY, in particular) is that you truly can find bargains. I've been to countless "outlets" that really have no better "deals" than there "regular" store. You will not be disappointed here.

BUT WAIT....there's more! In the parking lot around the mall, you'll find the BASS PRO SHOP, a favorite of many. There are also many other dining establishments surrounding Grapevine Mills.
I suggest you plan for a full two day excursion to Grapevine Mills. Hotels are available in Grapevine near the mall, or nearby Flower Mound or Lewisville. Of course, you may also stay near the DFW airport and be only two miles away.
My children seemed to enjoy the walk to our car at the end of the day the most. The reason for this? A spectacular view of the airplanes lining up for a landing at the DFW airport. And THAT didn't cost a penny!
I found the mall to be less crowded on a weekday than weekend, but of course, that's just common sense. Naturally, you can spend as much or little as you like, and you may choose to spend just one day here, but will only be able to "scratch the surface" of this exciting mall.
