Pros: Emphasizes pre-reading skills such as memory and rhyming.
Cons: Really difficult and long winded ending. With a little adaptation it is workable.
The Bottom Line: Very confusing especially winning the game, but with a little adaptation it helped my son learn to play a game with multiple step directions

| KarenLevy's Full Review: Green Eggs and Ham Game |
The Green Eggs and Ham game is the 2nd Dr. Seuss game that we purchased. It consists of a board, 4 Sam I Am pawns, a spinner and picture cards.
To set up the game you spread the picture cards out randomly face down in the center of the board. Each player spins the spinner and moves the designated number of spaces. There are 4 possible things that can happen when you land on a space. 1)Nothing - when you land on a green space your turn is over. 2) When you land on a space with a picture and word you select a card from the center of the board. The object is to find the card that rhymes with the word you landed on. Everyone playing gets to see this card when you turn it over. If you find a match you can keep the card, if not you put it back. 3) Train track spaces allow you to follow the tracks and move extra spaces. 4) Green Egg and Ham Card spaces. This is where the game gets confusing. When you land on this space you may select a card but you may not show it to your opponents. You are trying to find a Green Eggs and Ham card here ( I think!) Not showing the card to the other players give you the advantage of having seen a card on one else has. You can also spin a Green Eggs and Ham space on the spinner. If you do, you move to the next Green Eggs & Ham space on the board and turn over one of the cards in the middle. If you turn over a Green Eggs & Ham card you leave it on this spot.
The game goes on until one player has found three matching rhyme cards and either lands on a space that has a Green Eggs and Ham card already placed there or picks one from the center.
The Green Eggs and Ham card part of the game is very confusing. I usually just skip over that part of the ending and the winner is whoever gets three matches wins.
This is not the best game that I ever bought but it does help with many pre-reading skills. I also helps my son start to deal with more complex rules and directions.
