When it comes to vegetables, we mainly eat frozen ones. Besides being super convenient, research also suggests frozen is better for you than fresh due to the fact that frozen veggies are picked then frozen, where fresh produce can sit on grocery store shelves for who knows how long until you eat them. This can result in great nutritional loss.

Recently I sought out a couple of different veggie blends to mix things up a bit for our palates. During a sale on Green Giant boxed vegetables, I bought two boxes of Antioxidant Blend.
What it is
Green Giant Antioxidant Blend frozen vegetables comes in a 7 ounce microwavable bag which is inside a box. I really like these boxes, as they stack and store so well in the freezer.
This blend of veggies contains broccoli florets, Julienne carrots, red and yellow sweet pepper strips and a garlic olive oil sauce. The vegetable pieces are all very small which I like. However, if you are using this to mix into a stir-fry type meal, the pieces may be too small.
Since these veggies are in one of those microwavable bags, heating it up is simple. However, I've stopped microwaving food in plastic, and rarely utilize the microwavable bags. So instead, I followed the equally simple stove-top directions and it turned out just fine.
Normally we don't consume vegetables with sauces, as hubby isn't a sauce person. However, I took a chance with dinner last night and this Antioxidant Blend and he liked it. I wouldn't say it was his favorite, but he ate it and said it wasn't bad. As for myself, I rather enjoyed it. The sauce was very light and not thick at all. It just lightly coated the veggies and added a pleasant mild garlic flavor.
The veggies were all flavorful. The sweet peppers were indeed sweet. I also liked the fact that the broccoli was all in floret form, no tough stem pieces.
Though I'm not a fan of carrots, in a blend like this with a little sauce their more edible to me. And luckily, this blend wasn't primarily carrots, it had a pretty equal mix of all veggies.
Ingredient and Nutritional Information
The sauce is made up of ingredients I recognize, and nothing artificial. My only complaint would be the salt, I wish they'd switch to sea salt which is a little better for you. But Green Giant Antioxidant Blend vegetables isn't wildly high in sodium, one serving (2/3 cup) has 115mg of sodium (5% DV), which isn't terrible. Plus, you get 210mg of potassium, 2g of fiber, 30% Vitamin A, and 50% Vitamin C.
Green Giant Antioxidant Blend frozen vegetables makes a great little veggie side dish for two people. More than two people will be left with a tiny serving of vegetables. It cooks on the stovetop well and retains a lot of flavor and even a little crunch in some of the veggies.
I recommend for couples or singles wanting a little variety in their veggie routine. The sauce is light and in no way overpowers the veggies, so it's a real winner.
Cost: Depending on where you buy and whether or not it is on sale, the range is $1.50 to $2.00. A little costly for a small amount, but it is higher quality and has great flavor.
